Jake Can Make

Red Drawers

A set of bedside drawers designed and made by me. Cut, routed, glued, sanded and oiled.

The main carcass panels were cut on a table saw before rebates were routed to accept the drawer frames. I used a jig to route the finger joins and each drawer was constructed in a similar fashion. The drawer fronts were clad with 5mm red acrylic plastic.

Three drawer knobs were then turned, made from layers of acrylic and plywood.

The specification called for a vibrant, modern design and I really enjoyed making it.
